Hi, I am so thankful you stopped by! This is a place of welcome and belonging. A space where I often hash out faith, sort out motherhood and try to find humor in everyday life.
My name is Heather. I am a wife, a mother, an elementary reading teacher, and wanna-be writer. I live life with my husband Denver, three kids, six chickens and cat Nicholas on a mini-urban-farm in the heart of Oklahoma City. We have turned our neighborhood plot of land into an urban homestead complete with a fruitful veggie patch and chicken paradise.
I am a graduate student, studying child and family therapy, and plan to work with families of children with a diagnosis or disability. My husband and I have been in full time ministry for 12 years, in Oklahoma. He is a worship pastor, at our urban church, where we get the honor and privilege to share the hope and freedom of Jesus with a community we love. Living internationally on mission wherever we go is our priority and aim, whether we are at the grocery store, the local park, or waiting on my kids at practice.
You ended up here on purpose, and I am forever thankful. May this sliver of the internet be filled with hope and freedom, for “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of the law.” -Galatians 5:1
Thanks for reading, and I can’t wait to get to know you better.
